Remembering Vincent

 On Thursday-27-March, the Bogota Public Library held an unveiling ceremony for a new plaque in the main reading room. This was in honour of Mr. Vincent Galante, long-time Bogota resident and welcome guest of the Library. The plaque is placed on the wall near the computers. Mr. Galante would use the library computers on a regular basis to watch shows, and to view New York Yankee games. He would also enjoy the company of the Librarians and other patrons. For many years Mr. Galante joined the Library Staff to march in the Bogota’s Memorial Day Parade. He would stop and talk to anyone while walking on the Streets of the Borough.
 This ceremony was scheduled to coincide with the opening day of the Yankees 2025 season. Another tribute to Mr. Galante was for the Library Director Ms. Sara Cassaro to put on a New York Yankee’s cap before the unveiling. To remember Vincent, donations can be made to the Bogota Public Library.
 On Saturday-5-April, the Friends of the Bogota Library are hosting a one-day-only book donation day. This will run from 10:00a to 3:00p. They will accept any gently used books that will be available for purchase at the book sale. All proceeds from the sale will go to the Friends of the Bogota Library, which directly benefits the Bogota Public Library. They will not be accepting any textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines, or VHS tapes. Donations will only be accepted on this day. Time and dates for the Book Sale will be announce soon.
