On Sunday-9-February, a major fire took place
in the West View Tower Apartments at 15 Palisade Ave in Bogota. The 60 residents were forced to leave the building. They
have not been able to return to their residents. A number of efforts have
started to aid those effected by the fire.
One of the more urgent needs is for clothing
items. This includes women’s clothing in size from extra small to 4X. and shoe
size 5 and 7
Men’s sizes small to 2XL pants size 31/30 and 34/31 shoe size 9
1/2.
Boys’ sizes extra-large 7 10 12 and 12 to 18 months shoe size 5.
Girls size 10.
Size 6 diapers and wipes. Gift card will also be accepted.
Donations will be
accepted at 236 Walnut Ave. or the Bogota Senior Center on the second floor of 375 Larch Ave.
On
Thursday-13-February Volunteers will begin to sort item to be disturbed. This
will start at 7:00p in the Senior Center. The residents effected by the fire will be pick-up item needed on
Saturday-15-February from 1:00p to 3:00p. at the Senior
Center.
Local organization offer assistants include the E Roy Bixby PTO, The Bogota High
School PTO, The Bogota Middle School PTO, and the Trinity Lutheran Church in
Bogota.
