Monday-3-February Speary Gym held a Basketball Night in Bogota. The evening started with the Lady Bucs hosting the Harrison Lady Blue. Bogota would have a 12-7 lead after the first eight minutes. By halftime the advantage was reduced to 18 to 16. After the restart Harrison would use a full court press and a barrage of three-point basket to take a 38 to 24 lead on their way to a 53-32 road win. Emma Fowler had a game high with 22 Points with a team high of 4 Three Point Baskets. The Lady Blue's Serenity Maldonado record 18 Points and scored a game high with 5 Three Point Baskets. Bogota's record is now 5-11. They next play on Wednesday-5-February when the travel to Garfield with a 4:00p Tip-off.
Between games the Students of the Bogota Recreation Basketball played their first game for 2025.
The Men's Basketball Bucs took on Newark Vocational. This was the Senior Game for 2025. Before the start of play the three Senior Bucs Lucas Cruz, Shawn Herrera, and Brandon Nicolas were honored for their service to Bogota Basketball. Also recognized was Senior Cheerleader Ian Engelhardt.
The Game started with Bogota taking a 21 to 10 first quarter lead. At half time the advantage grew to 34 to 17. The Bucs would win the game by the score of 66 to 40. Lucas Cruz had a team high with 19 Points, and a Game High of 14 Rebounds and 5 Blocks. Brandon Nicolas led all scorers with 4 Three Point Baskets. Newark Vocational's Adonia Akande had a game high with 21 Points with 1 Three Point Basket. Bogota's record is now 8-12. Their next game is Wedensday-5-February against Lodi. This will take place on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym with a 7:00p
The Bogota-Ridgefield Park Scarlet/Bucs took on the Tenafly Tigers.
Of the 14 bouts scheduled 10 took place. The Scarlet/Bucs won 7 of them. Bogota-Ridgefield Park's Mathias Avia at 132 lbs., Dean Sinisgalli at 138 lbs., and Derek Rodriguez at 175 lbs. and Alexander Cruz at 215 lbs. won by pin falls. Xavian Robinson at 113 lbs. score a Technical Fall 20-3. Joaquin Salcedo at 126 lbs. had a 14-9 14-9 Decision win. Derek Rodriguez at 175 lbs., and Isaiah Carron also had a 7-3 Decision win.
They now have a record of 11-7. Thier next match is Saturday-8-February at Mahwah at 10:00a
