Thursday-6-February, the Bogota Borough Council held first meeting for the month meeting. To start the meeting Bogota Mayor Ms. Daniele Fede ask for a moment of silence to remember Ridgefield Park Police officer Steven Ferandez who died on Sunday-2-February . Also Mr. Edward McCarthy a resident of Bogota for 73 years was also remembered.
Then the Council voted on the Consent Agenda. Most of the resolutions were passed by unanimous vote. Items of note was to appoint Mr. William Betesh as Borough Attorney. One item was voted on separately, this was to expand the hours that Borough Hall will be open. This was passed by a 5 to 1 vote. The new schedule is business hours will still be 8:30a to 5:15p on Monday to Thursday. Fridays the new business hours will be 8:30a to 4:00p. The Building Department will be open on Tuesday from 10:00a to 6:30p. The new schedule will take effect starting on Monday-3-March.
One of the approvals voted on was to approve two new members for the Bogota Volunteer Fire Department. They are Mr. Jesus Gonzales and Mr. Tyler Lewinski. They were excepted by unanimous vote.
Next Mr. Betesh was sworn in as Borough Attorney by Borough Clerk Ms. Yenlys Flores-Bolivard.
The next regular Council meeting will be held on Thursday-20-February starting at 7:30p. It is scheduled to be held in the Council Chambers located on the second floor of 375 Larch Ave Bogota, NJ. For more information please visit: https://www.bogotaonline.org/
