Results of Bogota Varsity sports from Wednesday and Thursday 15 & 16-January. The Bogota Bowling Bucs competed against Hawthorne Christian Academy Defenders. Hawthorne Christian would win the match by a score of 7-0. Nico Lucarelli had a high game with 146 Pins, and the high total of 389 Pins for Bogota. Matthew Mitchell recorded a match high with a 222 game with Zach Burres 563 scoring a High Set of 633 Pins for the match. Bogota’s record is now 3-6. Their next match is on Tuesday-21-January against Midland Park at 4:00p in the Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park.
On Wednesday-15-January the Men’s Basketball Bucs traveled to North Arlington to play the Vikings. Bogota had a 19 to 12 lead after the first quarter. The Bucs added to their advantage by half time making the score 38 to 29. After the restart Bogota continued to expand the points margin. In the fourth quarter North Arlington mounted a comeback with the Bucs held on for a 62 to 58 road win. Jaidin Gonzalez led Bogota with 16 Points, Brandon Nicolas recorded a team high of 2 Three Point Baskets and a game high with 8 Rebounds. Elijah Zaldivar also scored 16 Points for the Vikings with Danny Higgins having 3 Three Point Baskets. Bogota's recorded is now 6-7. They next play at New Milford on Friday-17-January with a 7:00p tipoff.
The Lady Bucs Basketball team hosted the Golden Bears from Lyndhurst. The Golden Bears grabbed a 20-7 lead after the first eight minutes. They would win the game by a score of 54 to 33. Bogota's Emma Fowler led the Lady Bucs with 19 Points, including a game high with 5 Three Point Baskets, with 9 Rebounds. Lyndhurst's Sam Mayer scored a game high with 24 Points with 4 Three Point Baskets. Bogota's record is now 3-7. They next play on Friday-17-January against New Milford. This will start at 4:00p on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym.
