 Recap from Bogota Varsity Sports from Friday-3-January. The Bogota/Ridgefield Park Scarlets-Bucs Wrestling Squad traveled to Orange to face the Tornadoes. The match opened with Orange taking five of the first six bouts.  The Scarlets-Bucs responded by winning the final eight bouts in a row to win the match by the score of 49-26. Issac Crespo, won by a Major Decision 13-5.  Marlon Bravo (18-1) Mathias Avila (18-3) and Kevin Velasquez (23-8) all recorded Technical Falls.  Alexander Cruz, Tyler Lippencott, Xavier Chasi, Joaquin Salcedo, and Dean Sinisgalli all had Pinfall victories. Bogota/Ridgefield's record is now 3-0. Their next match is Monday-6-January at Dwight-Morrow with the first bout at 7:00p 

  The Bogota Lady Basketball Bucs traveled to New Milford to take on the Lady Knights. Bogota used a strong first quarter to take an 23-12 lead. By halftime they extended their advantage to 37 to 20.  After the restart New Milford closed the margin to 43-35 with the Lady Bucs still in the lead.  The game would end with Bogota coming home with a57-48 win.  Lady Bucs Emma Fowler had game highs with 25 Points including 3 Three Point Baskets. New Milford was led by Casey DiGirolamo with 12 Points. She also recorded 2 Three Point Baskets along with Jenella Ricciardelli. Bogota's record is now 1-5. They next play Monday-6-January hosting Palisades Park.  This will be played on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym with a 4:00p tip-off

  The Men's Basketball Bucs hosted New Milford on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym. Bogota scored the first 4 points of the game. The Knight answered that with two three Points to have a 6-4 advantage. The rest of the first quarter saw several lead changes.  By the end of the eight minutes the Bucs led 13-12. In the second quarter the Knights took over the lead and would go into halftime leading 27 to 22. In the second half of the game New Milford continued to grow their lead and won the game by the score of 59 to 50. Anner Hernandez led Bogota with 17 Points with 2 Three Point Baskets. The Knights Luia Placido scored a game high with 25 Points. And Andy Aviles recorded 2 Three Point Baskets. The Bucs Lucas Cruz had 19 Rebounds. Bogota's record is now 3-4. They next play on Sunday-5-January at Newark Eastside with the tip-off at 10:00a.
