On Thursday-16-January, the Bogota Borough
Council held their first Regular meeting for 2025. The first order of business
was to discuss a couple of items for further study. These may be considered at future
Council meetings, after more research.
Then the Council voted on the consent agenda. All resolutions passed by unanimous
vote. Items of note were:
To appoint Mr. Robert Foster as a Class I Special Law Enforcement Officer (SLEO I). A
SLEO I can perform routine traffic detail, spectator
control, and similar duties. If authorized by ordinance or resolution, Class I
officers may issue summonses for disorderly persons offenses, petty disorderly
persons offenses, and municipal ordinance violations.
Authorized a Grant submission for improvement in Olsen Park.
To approve the challenging the Fourth Round Affordable Housing
Figures for Bogota. To approve the hiring of Mr. Tyler Lewinski for full time position at the Department of Public works. Along
with Mr. Issac Buckley for a part time position at the Department of Public
works.
To approve the Borough hosting a Ramadan event on Saturday-22-February.
This is scheduled to take place on Larch Ave. in front of Brough Hall weather
permitting. Time to be announced later.
The next regular Council meeting will be held
on Thursday-6-Febuary starting at 7:30p. It is scheduled to be held in the
Council Chambers located on the second floor of 375 Larch Ave Bogota, NJ. This
