Chief's Election 2025

 On Saturday-7-December, the Bogota Volunteer Fire Department held their annual Chiefs election. This was held inside the W. Broad St. Firehouse. Fire Chief Mr. Michael Krynicky gave a brief year-end report which was highlighted by the new rolling stock that has been added to the department and the new turn out suits for the members. Chief Krynicky thanked the Mayor and Council for their support for the Firefighters in Bogota. He also thanked the members of the Dept who work hard to keep Bogota safe, then need to return to their full time jobs afterward.  Chief Krynicky then asked for a moment to remember the actions at Pearl Harbor 83 years ago.
 Then the time served announcements were made. First were Ms. Heather Montague and Mr. Joseph DeMario Jr  for 10 years of service. Next were Mr. Joeph Carnevale, and Mr. Jan Cordeno  for 20 years of Service. Mr. Joseph DeMario Sr.  for 25 years of service.  Mr. Scott Woegens for45 years of service, and Mr. Louis Kern for 50 years of service.  Next unit citations, for their rescue efforts in responding  to a house fire on 11-November-2023. These were presented to Engine Co. #1 and Hook and Ladder Co. #1.
 Mayor Ms. Daniele Fede swore in the Captains and Lieutenants for 2025. Followed by Mayor Fede swearing in Mr. Adam Schaeffer as Fire Chief for 2025, then Mr. Robert Dirr as Assistant Fire Chief for 2025.  It was then announced that Mr. Alex Breuss was elected by the members of Hook and Ladder Co. #1 to be Battalion Chief for 2025. He was then sworn in by Mayor Fede.   
 Chief Krynicky was first presented a token by Mayor Fede for his year as the Departments Chief. Then the ex-Chief badge by former Chief Chip Griener. In some of his last official duties for 2024, Chief Krynicky presented Mr. Scott Woegens from Hook and Ladder Co. #1 with the Fire Fighter of the Year trophy.   This was followed by Engine Co. #1 being named Company of the year for 2024.
  The Bogota Fire Department, and all the other Emergency Service Companies in Bogota are now currently recruiting new members to become volunteers. This is open to anyone Female or Male who are at least 18 years of age , and are residents of Bogota as well as Ridgefield Park, Teaneck ,and Hackensack.  Training, and equipment will be provided. There is also a Junior Firefighter program open to young Women, and Men who are at least 16 years of age. A Junior Firefighter will also receive training  and be a part of the support system to the Firefighters themselves. Broad St. Firehouse from 7:00-8:00p
