On Wednesday-25-September, the Borough of Bogota Municipal Clerk Ms. Yenlys Flores-Bolivard held a voting information prestation at Bogota High School. This was to talk about the importance of elections in a borough like Bogota, providing an overview of the election process and emphasizing why their participation is vital to the community. She was joined by High School Principal Dr. Jeannie Paz and Counselor Ms. Tara Amanna. From the Bogota Municipal Government was Borough Administrator Mr. Conall O'Malley and Deputy Clerk’s Ms. Melissa Baque. Bogota Borough Councilman Mr. Pat McHale, Library Director Ms. Sara Cassaro, and Ms. Angelica Rodriguez from the Drug Abuse Prevention program. Also attending, as a guest speaker, was New Jersey State Assemblywoman Ms. Shama Haider as a special guest.
At his event 26 Students were registered as new voter for the 2024 elections.
Important date for the 2024 General Elections:
-Tuesday 15 October is the last day to register to vote in the 2024 Geneal Elections
-Wednesday 23 October Sample Ballots will be mailed out.
-Saturday 26 October the Early Voting period starts. It ends on Sunday 3 November.
-Tuesday 29 October last day to apply for a mail-in Ballot for 2024.
-Friday 1 November Deadline for Application to Receive General Election Mail-In Ballots by Electronic Means for Qualified Overseas Civilian and Military Voters.
-Monday 4 November (before 3:00p) Deadline for In-Person Mail-In Ballot Applications for General Election.
-Tuesday 5 November 2024 General Elections. with the polls opening at 6:00a and remain open until 8:00p.
The Public schools of the Bogota Board of Education will be closed. Polls are located at the at:
-- For Districts 1& 6 it is the Bogota Recreation Center at 162 W. Main St.
Districts 1&6 is that part of the Borough located West of the Railroad tracks.
-- For Districts 2&3 it is the Gym of Bogota High School at 1 Henry Luthin Pl. please use the door towards the back of the building on the North side of the building.
Districts 2& 3 is that part of the Borough located East of the Railroad tracks & North of Beechwood Ave
-- For Districts 4&5 it is in the Gym of the Roy Bixby School at Maplewood & Fischer Aves.
Districts 4 &5 is that part of the Borough located East of the Railroad tracks & South of Beechwood Ave.
