Lady Bucs Volleyball

 31-October-2024

On Monday-28-October the Bogota Lady Bucs Volley team hosted the Palisades Park Lady Tigers. Bogota opened the first set with the serve.  Melannie Solis would serve for an 11-0 run for the Lady Bucs. They would win the set by a score of 25-5. Palisades Park had the first serve in the second.  Bogota would win the side out and have Melannie Solis open a scoring run. Ms. Solis was replaced by Allene Jimenez who gave the home team an 8-0 advantage.  Bogota went on to win the set 25-8 and the match by the score of 2-0.
Emma Fowler had a match high with 6 Kills. Melannie Solis led all players with 8 Assists, 12 Service Points which included 6 Aces. Keidy Rodriguez had 2 Blocks. And Ariana Marchant, Lucy Villamar, Allene Jimenez, and Isabella Cruz all recorded 2 Digs.  Bogota's record is now 15-9.
The Lady Bucs go into the 2024 New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) North Jersey Section 2 Group 1 Tournament as the number 5 seed. They will host #12 Hanover Park in a First Round Match. This will he held on Monday-4-November at home in Speary Gym. The first Serve is scheduled for 4:30p.

Weekend Events

Starting on Monday-10-July PSE&G will be working on Elm Ave. between 7:30a and 5:30p. for utility work.

  The Borough has started a Hometown Heroes Banner program. This will allow residents of Bogota to honor a family member who serviced in the Armed Servies. The cost of a banners will be $150.00 payable to the Borough of Bogota.  The Village of Ridgefield Park has made available the sign up and the trial period for their Food Waste Municipal Composting Program through the end of the year.

Leaf season is from Monday-14-October until Monday-23-December. Homeowners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting in the street, along the curb, in front of their residents.  It is asked that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding, or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday-23-December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up.

Larch Ave will close 3:30p until 630p. This is to allow for the Borough's Safe Street Trick or Treating.  The closure will be from W. Main St and Homestead Place in Bogota. The side streets also have will no access onto Larch Ave. Larch Ave in Teaneck will also be closed from the Bogota border to North St in Teaneck.

Election Day 2024 Polls open at 6:00a to 8:00p
The Public schools of the Bogota Board of Education will be closed.

The Ridgefield Park Elks Lodge # 1506 will host a Tuesday Night Dinner of Stuff Shells over Noodles with salad and desert.  This will take place in the Elks lodge is located at the 30 Spruce St. Ridgefield Park, NJ.  The event will start at 6:00p a with a donation of $12.00 per person.  Dinner will include salad and desert.
