Ground Breaking

On Monday-30-September the Bogota Public School District has announced there will be a Groundbreaking ceremony for the new Bogota Sports Complex. This will take place on Friday-4-October at 5:30p. The event will take place at 198 W. Park Pl. Bogota NJ. The ceremony is open to the Public.

Weekend Results

 29-September-2024

Results from the weekend of Bogota Varsity Sports.
On Saturday-28-September the Bogota Football Bucs traveled to St. Mary to play the Geals. The home team would in the game by the score of 45 to 6. Brandon Nicolas scored on a five-yard pass from Jayden Gonzlez. Bogota's record is now 1-4They next play on Thursday-3-Ocotober at Wood-Ridge with a 7:00p Kick-off. 
On Friday-27-September the Soccer Bucs traveled to Midland Park to play the Panthers. Midland Park had one goal in the first have, then two more after the restart for a 3-0 win. Joshua Quevedo made 8 saves for the Bucs. They now 0-8 and next play on Monday-30-September at Paterson Charter School with a 4:00p start.
Friday-27-September the Lady Bucs Volleyball team hosted the Lady Owls from Park Ridge. The first set started with Bogota having the opening service, but Park Ridge would score first.  They would take an early 2-0 lead. The Lady Bucs tied the set at 2 apiece soon after. This would be the first of five ties to start the set. Bogota opened a three-point advantage, which the Lady Owls would reduce to just one point. With Melannie Solis serving the margin grew to 13-8 in favor of Bogota. They won the first set by a score of 25 to 19. 
The second set also saw the serving team, Park Ridge, lose the first point. The Lady Owls did get 7 of the next ten point to have a 7-3 lead. Bogota was able to tie the set at 8-8 and 9-9   before taking a 10-9 another serving run by Ms. Solis paced the Lady Bucs to a 25-17 set win and a 2-0 Match victory. Isabella Cruz and Mia Izzo for Park Ridge led all players with 14 Kills each. The Lady Owls Izzy Yareni scored a match high with 25 Digs. Bogota was led by Ms. Cruz with 10 Digs. The Lady Bucs' Adamarys Pinos recorded a team high of 12 Assist with Melannie Solis having 10 Assist. Park Ridge's Ella McDermott had 17 Assists. Bogota's Emma Fowler had a match high with 8 Service Point including 4 Aces. Izzy Yareni also had 8 Service Points. 
Bogota's record is now 7-4. Their next league match is Monday-30-September at Dwight-Englewood with a 4:00p start.
Saturday-28-September The Lady Bucs play in a tournament at Livingston Lancer Invitational Tournament. They would finish fourth out of a 16 team field.

Scenes from St. Joseph Carnival

The St Joseph Church in Bogota held their annual Carnival and Food Festival on the Weekend of 21-September. All three days featured a variety of dining options prepared by different organization. On Saturday and Sunday Bounce House Mania provided a number of rides and games as well.

Starting on Monday-10-July PSE&G will be working on Elm Ave. between 7:30a and 5:30p. for untility  work.

  The Borough has started a Hometown Heroes Banner program. This will allow residents of Bogota to honor a family member who serviced in the Armed Servies. The cost of a banners will be $150.00 payable to the Borough of Bogota. The Bergen County Board of Commissioners invite Bergen County resident artists, aged 17 years and older, to register for the 60th Annual Bergen County Art in the Park Show and Concert. It will be held on Saturday October 19 in Van Saun Park in Paramus, Lot 4, Area F. Over 100 visual artists will be featured in the exhibition and sale, representing the wide scope of artistic diversity found within the County of Bergen.
This is a juried show open to Amateur and Professional Artist. Exhibitors work must fit into one of the following 6 Categories they are : Acrylics/Oils; Drawing/Prints/Pastels: Mixed Media: Photography (Digital/Traditional): Photography (Digital Manipulation) and Watercolors.
Exhibitor spots are 6ft high x 8ft wide, spaces are limited. Registration will close on Thursday October 10. (or if all spaces are taken). Organizations may register Artist with disabilities to showcase client’s group artwork.
Cash prizes include 1st place $175, 2nd place $150, 3rd place $125, Honorable Mention $100 and Best in Show $525.

The Bogota Band Parents will again sponsor its Town Wide Garage Sale. This will take place on Saturday-2-October. The sale will run from 10:00a to 4:00p rain or shine. The cost to participate is $15.00 this will allow the seller to have their address listed on the official garage sale map and they will receive yard sign for their address show that are a participant. Process from the registration fee will go to help support the Bogota High School Marching Buccaneer Band. 
  The Bogota Band Parents is another group of Families who join together to help fund the High School program when School funds are not available.  Some of the help provided is trip planning and addition transportation to away football game, and Band competitions. Providing chaperoning for trips and other items needed to a successful Band program.
