Media Day

 Wednesday-14-August, the North Jersey Interscholastic Conference (NJIC) held their first preseason Media Day for the 2024 Football Season. This took place at the Panzer Athletic Center on the Montclair State University campus. It was hosted by Wood-Ridge High School Athletic Director Mr. Marc Sinclair. Attending was the 26 schools from the four divisions of the NJIC. The Bogota Football Bucs were led by Head Coach Mr. Brian Appleton with Senior Captains, Mr. Hamlet Garcia, and Mr. Angel Jimenez.
  The program was broken up into four sessions with each division taking their place in front of the members of the media. Also, North Jersey Media’s Mr. Greg Tartaglia would talk to each team individually for their thoughts on the upcoming season. His first question at the Bogota table was about the Bucs return to the Patriot Division. Coach Appleton said he was pleased with the school’s development while in the Union Division. He added that the program was able to rebuild from 16 players to 33 players for the 2024 season. Coach Appleton explained how their success over the past four years held build a positive attitude and taught the players how to work hard in order to win games. Mr. Tartaglia asked Mr. Jimenez about playing against larger schools. He said that the Bucs need to do the work to “Get the Job Done.”
 Bogota has returned to the Patriot Division after four seasons in the developmental Union Division, they are again eligible for the NJSIAA sectional playoffs. The other teams in the division are Weehawken, Park Ridge, Wallington, Wood-Ridge, and St. Mary’s.
 With the redevelopment of Feigel Field Bogota will play their home games at the Vince Lombardi Field in Palisades Park. The Bucs will open their season on Thursday-29-August at home against Manchester with a 7:00p kick-off.
