Bogota Borough Council

 Thursday-15-August, the  Bogota Borough Council held their meeting for the month. The first main order of  business was to introduce a new ordnance. This is to amend the South End Redevelopment Plan. This will create a subsection of the Redevelopment Plan to allow the warehouses for the 30 Cross St. project. The rest of the Redevelopment Plan will eliminate warehouses, and distribution facilities throughout the Borough. This will be open to Public Comment at the Thursday-5 September meeting.
 Next was the Public Hearing of the ordinance to authorize the sidewalk improvement around Bixby School. With no member of the Public offering  to speak the ordinance was passed  by unanimous vote.
 Then the Council considered the resolutions on the Consent Agenda. All resolutions were passed by unanimous vote. Items of note were:
To Re-Appoint three SLEO-3 for the 2024-25 School Year, and to hire one new SLEO-3 for the 2024-25 school year.
 To hire a new employee for the Borough’s Clerk’s Office.
 To approve contracts to the Bixby sidewalk improvements and to repair sidewalks that have been damaged by tree roots growth.
To authorize the sale of the Aerial Ladder Fire Truck  by public auction. It was also mention the new Aerial Ladder Fire Truck for Hook & Ladder Co. #1 is scheduled to be delivered to the Borough on Monday-19-August.
 In the Government reports it was announced the River Rd repaving is scheduled to begin on the week starting Monday-19-August.
When the Council returned from Closed Session it was announced that the Borough has agreed to a settlement for ongoing litigation.
 The Council meeting will take place on Thursday-5 September at 7:30p. It will be held in the Council Chambers located on the second floor of 375 Larch Ave. It is open to the Public.
