Bogota Community Day


23-July-2024
 On Saturday 21-July, the Borough of Bogota held their 2024 Community Day. This took place at multiple locations in Olsen Park. On W. Main St. Emergency Services and Borough vehicles lined the street so the public can get a closer look. Personnel was on hand to talk with the residents and answer questions they might have.
 Another section had food trucks parked to serve meals and other refreshments. Near by the Bogota Police Department set up a dunk tank. Officers took turns to be sent into the water when the target was hit properly. 
 On Lady Buc field a number of inflatable slides and playgrounds were provided by Bounce House Mania. They also had a bumper car course available.
 Along the outfield fence many local organizations had displays to hand out information. They included Bogota Preschool, Steen School, the Bogota Band Parents, Isabels School of Dance, the Public Library, and the Bergen County Prevention Coalition
 This year a show wagon from the City of Edgewater was provided for entertainment. The first was dancers from Latin Dance movement. They presented Groups Duets and Solo performances. After 6:00p the Adult part of the evening started. Bogota Mayor Ms. Daniele Fede spoke to the gathering audience. She welcomed everyone to Olsen Park for the celebration.  She thanked all the municipal department, along with the local organization and business participating in the event.  Mayor Fede also acknowledged the work of the Bogota Volunteer Fire Department for not only being a part of the celebration, but on their work containing a car fire earlier in the day. Then the band “The Rummies” took to the stage. They ended the evening playing Classic Rock & Roll and Country music songs. With some dancing and others relaxing on a Summers evening.
