Adoptions

 25-July-2024
On Saturday-20-July the Overpeck Creek Animal Hospital in Bogota hosted an Animal Adoption event. This was done in conjunction with the North Shore Animal League America. The Animal League arrived in a mobile kennel bring 10 candidates for adoptions. There 8 dogs and 2 cats. One side of the bus had a glass side to allow people to see the puppies from the outside. All the animals available were age from 3 to 5 months. Many of them were mixed breeds. Patrons could also enter the bus and walk between the kennels. Each enclosure had the name of the pet, its sex and bread.  The passerby could pet and interact with the animals, which in turn, showed their excitements to the Humans.
On a regular basis one of the dogs would come out to go for a walk. This let the Humans to pet and hug the animals. The dogs took this opportunity to jump and play while trying to convince the attendees that they were the new friend the Humans really needed. There was also a booklet of more animals for concertation.
One family started to focus on a particular Black Lab Mix.  They were given more information on their choice and a change for both to get to know one another better. The family then started the paperwork for adoption. The Offsite Team then did a background check, to ensure for the safety of both the Dog and the Humans. While this took place the Humans would take this time to buy gifts for the newest member of the Family. When everything was approved an update Family photo was taken.
The Animal Hospital provided the Family with more information about care and treatment, along with schedule a check-up schedule. Everyone celebrated that another Forever Family has been created.
