HEAT ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM EDT
THURSDAY.


- WHAT...Heat index values of 95-100 expected during the afternoon
  and early evening each day.
-WHERE...Eastern Bergen, Eastern Essex, Eastern Passaic, Eastern
  Union, Hudson, Western Bergen, Western Essex, Western Passaic, and
  Western Union Counties.
-WHEN...From noon today to 8 PM EDT Thursday.
- IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.


AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 11 PM EDT TUESDAY.
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued an
Air Quality Action Day for the following counties:
Bergen, Passaic, Hudson, Essex, and Union
 from 11 AM to 11 PM EDT Tuesday.
An Air Quality Action Day means that Ground Level Ozone within the
region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards.


    This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southern Connecticut,
northeast New Jersey and southeast New York.

DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

The peak of the heat wave is expected Thursday and Friday with heat
indices reaching 95 to around 103 during the afternoon hours. Heat
indices will be more marginal for Saturday, and peak around or just
over 95.
