For the 2024 Baseball Season Bogota High School has joined with Ridgefield Park High School to play Baseball. This is similar to the agreement both schools have with Wrestling. For baseball Ridgefield Park will be the team of record. With the addition of Bogota, the team has been moved to a Group III school based on the combined enrollment of the two High Schools. They will play in the Big North Conference in the American Division. Home games will be played at the Biggs Stadium Baseball Diamond in Ridgefield Park. In case of weather condition games may be played on Bassano Field in Little Ferry. Seclect Games could be played on the Baseball Diamond at Fiegel Field.
Ridgefield Park played the North Arlington Vikings on Saturday -6-April. This was played,
at Bassano Field in Little Ferry due to field conditions at North Arlington. With a coin flip, the Ridgefield Park became the home team and batted second. North Arlington scored in the top of the first with Ridgefield Park answering with three runs in the bottom of the inning. This would repeat itself in the third inning giving the Scarlets a 6-2 advantage. The “Home Team” added one more run in the fourth making the score 7-2. North Arlington scored twice in the top of the fifth to close the margin to 3 runs. Ridgefield Park scored seven times in the fifth inning and ended the game by the score of 14-4.
Andrew Garcia made his first Varsity start for the Scarlets and recorded his first complete game win. Also Ryan Lewis would record his first Varsity Run scored and first Stolen Base. Josh Friedman had a game high with 3 Runs Batted In, and 1 Double. Jason Alvarado, Victor Rodriguez, and Shea Losino all had game highs with 2 Stolen Bases. For the Vikings Nate Smith threw 2 Strikeouts in relief. Luis Ramos led his team with 2 Runs Batted In, and Robert Kairys hit 1 Double. Ridgefield Park's record is now 2-1. They next play on Tuesday April 9 at Cliffside Park with a 4:00p first pitch weather permitting.
