On Thursday- 18-April the Bogota Borough
Council held their Regular Meeting for the Month of April. After Citizens
remarks, the Council then opened the meeting for Public input on an ordinance
about the removal or replacement of trees within the Borough. This is part of
the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Stormwater Management
Program. When no member of the Public chose to speak, it was adopted by
unanimous vote. Next the Council voted for the resolutions on the Consent Agenda. All were passed by unanimous vote.
Items of note was to approve roadway improvements for James St. Other items
passed was payment of claims and for a Block Party on Saturday-1-June at 38 W.
Ft. Lee between Elm Ave and the Railroad crossing. This is schedule to begin at
1:00p. Rain date is Sunday-2-June.
After the Council returned from a closed session, they voted to accept Mr. Derek DeMatteo to fill the vacant position for the Bogota Police Department. Mr. DeMatteo was approved for a conditional offer of employment based on when his training at the Police Academy is met.
The next Borough Council meeting will be on Thursday-2-May at 7:30p. It will be held in the Council Chambers on the second floor of 375 Larch Ave. It is an in-person meeting only and is open to the Public.
