On Tuesday-27 February the Bogota Board of Education held their Regular meeting for the month. In his report Superintendent Mr. Damien Kennedy announced that Isabel Michel was awarded a full scholarship to attend Fairleigh Dickerson University's Cross-Country Program. Another was that the week starting on Monday-4-March Bixby and Steen Schools will take part in Read Across America Week.
Then the Board of Trustees voted on the consent agenda. All resolutions were passed by unanimous vote. Items of note were: To accept a grant for equipment to be used by the Bogota Middle School Softball team. To accept grant to expansion and sustained operations of the High School's hydroponics program. To approve Mr. Bryan Autore as an Elementary Teacher at Steen School. To approve the coaching positions for Bogota Spring sports. To award the contract for door replacement at Bogota High School, Steen School, and Bixby School. 3/4 of the funding will be provided by the COPS SVPP grant. To award a contract to replace the tile floor in the Steen School hallway.
The next Board of Education Meeting will be a Work meeting on Tuesday-12-March. It is scheduled to start at 7:00p. It will be a hybrid meeting with in-person attendance and available online. The in-person meeting will be held at 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ The meeting is open to the Public.
