The Bogota High School Fine Arts Department held its final rehearsal for this year's BHS Players production of "Radium Girls". This was performed in front of an audience from Bogota Middle School.
The play is based on the historic events of female factory workers who contracted radiation poisoning from painting radium dials, watch dials and hands with self-luminous paint. The incidents occurred in a factory in Orange, New Jersey, and other parts of the Country, beginning around 1917. These events have a place in the history of both the field of health physics and the labor rights movement. The right of individual workers to sue for damages from corporations due to labor abuse was established as a result of the Radium Girls' case.
There will be two performances of this production. Opening Night will be on Friday-1- December and on Saturday-2-December at 7:30p. Doors will open at 7:00p. Tickets for both shows are priced at $8.00 for Adults and $5 for Students and are available at the door. The performance will be held in the Bogota High School Auditorium located at 2 Henry Luthin Pl Bogota, NJ.
