On Saturday-18-November a home fire was reported at 320 River Rd in Bogota. Bogota Police and Bogota Volunteer Fire Department response to the call at about 6:00p. Units from other municipalities would assist the Bogota Fire Department. A male victim, Vietnam Veteran Mr. Gerry Gaimo, was found unconscious and transported to the Hackensack University Medical Center. He would be pronounced deceased at that facility. A female victim, Mr. Gaimo's Wife. was able to leave the structure and evaluated by Emergency Medical services at the scene.
This incident is being investigated by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and the Bogota Police Department. No additional information is available at this time.
A memorial service will be held for Mr. Gaimo on Friday-24-November and beheld at Petrik Funeral Home located at 140 Palisade Ave. Bogota, NJ. The VFW service will begin at 7:00p.
