On Saturday -14-October Sustainable Ridgefield Park held their annual health fair and Blood Drive for 2023. Over 50 vendors attended in two locations.
It had a mix of local organization and business’s along with County health providers. From Bogota Bradley Bakery offered sugar-free or Keto-friendly, Dairy-Free, gluten-free cookies and pastries for purchase. And the Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources, this organization will work with Bogota Advisory Committee of Substance Abuse to assist in education and helping to find resources for treatment and recovery.
Major health care providers were Holy Name Hospital from Teaneck, which had a blood pressure test available. The also offered early detection and screen information for Breast Cancer. Hackensack University Medical Center was represented by number of different tables with information about testing and treatment of other forms of cancer. The New Bridge Medical Center had information for Veterans Healthcare Services and Physical Rehabilitation. And a table for the Mid-Bergen Regional Health Commission. Bergen County departments provided information on subjects from Family and Child support, substance addiction treatment and recovery programs. Along with resource centers which offer information on Mental Health, Family Support, and those affected with HIV/AIDS of all ages. Private companies ranged from health and beauty care, assisted living centers, alterative health treatment, and health foods. Also attending were vendors specializing in insurance, financial and legal aid.
