16-April-2023
On Saturday-15-April the Bogota Recreation Department hosted their annual Easter Egg hunt. This was moved to later in the month due to weather conditions, and not wanting to compete with Spring Break. Also, the course was moved to the meadow between the playground and the Band Stand. This allowed for more children to take part in the hunt. The area was fenced in on three sides which let the Parent watch from a safe distance. Only the Pre-School and Kindergarten students were allowed to be accompanied by Parent, or older sibling. Recreation Director Mr. Joseph Ricca lined up the first group to start their hunt. After a few times of Mr. Ricca asking the line to move back a step, he turned them loose to hunt for eggs. After all the eggs were gathered those who found the special eggs traded them in for prizes. Mr. Ricca, with the help of the Easter Bunny, handed out prizes to the winners.
This was repeated for more time for the different grade groups. There was also one more round for anyone who wanted to go again or might have missed their age group. This also allowed the Easter Bunny to meet the Children and talked to their Parents. Along with taking a moment to pose for photos.
