Note: This Board of Education was held on the day of the Bond Referendum. At the time of the meeting the polls in Bogota had not yet closed. The results of the vote was that both questions on the ballot had passed. In a statement from Superintendent's Mr. Damien Kennedy said: The next steps include meeting with our Architects and Bond Council to plan the sale of the bonds and designing the projects.
On Tuesday-14-March the Bogota Board of Education held their Work session meeting for the Month. In his Superintendent's reports Mr. Damien Kennedy announced that the District's preliminary budget for 2023-24 should also have a 0% tax increase. This would the third year in a row the School tax rate has stayed the same. Next Superintendent's Kennedy said that the High School's Division winning Varsity sports team and the Mock Trail club will be honoured by the Board of Education. All non-action items on the consent agenda were moved to the action meeting. The Board did consider on four resolutions that needed to be voted on. All items were pass with a unanimous vote. Items of note were the Proposed Budget for 2023-24. And to approve the appointment of Ms. Stephanie Reyes, as a Special Education Teacher effective March 6, 2023
The next Board of Education meeting will be Tuesday-28-March at 7:00p. This will take place in person at the Bogota High School Cafeteria located on the second floor of 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ and online. This meeting is open to the Public.
