31-August-2022
On Tuesday- 30-August crews from Bergen County repaved all of Main St in Bogota. Both East and West Main St received the new black top and the street was reopened to traffic by early evening. On Wednesday 31-August the street was given preliminary traffic marking for safety. The final traffic marking will be applied on Wednesday-1-September, in time for the opening of Bogota Public Schools.
Bogota Police traffic control will accompany the painting crew in order to minimal closures of Main St.
Crews will paint traffic lines on the newly paved section from the Lt Ryan Bridge to the Teaneck boarder. They used a Thermoplastic painting system which was applied hot to create a stronger bond on the asphalt. This type of application is excepted to have a life span of at least five years, which reduces the need for annual repainting. Another part of this process was to add glass powder as a topcoat to be more reflective at night.
Main Street in Bogota is official Bergen County Route # 56 with the work being financed by Bergen County.
