On Saturday-9-July the Bogota Football Bucs held a Car Wash to help support the program. This was held in from of the High School were the customers formed a line using the drop-off road to wait their turn. As the vehicles pulled in front of the District's office the team was able to work on two cars at a time. Overseen by Head Football Coach Mr. Brain Appleton the students became their Summer training for the Fall Season. The where organized in small groups to maximize the efficient of the job. One group were given signs and stationed along Palisade Ave and the corner of E. Main St. This served to attract passersby to support the team. On Henry Luthin Pl. one group players would perform the initial rinse. While the next unit applied soap and began to scrub off any dirt from the exterior. As a second car was moved into position the rinse team moved to that one to start the process again. Coach Appleton would remind the players of Bucs PRIDE. Meaning to be Passionate about which ever task they are performing. Take the Responsibility to do whatever needed to be done. Have the Integrity and to help out a teammate. Be Discipline to the all the tasks correctly. And have the Enthusiasm to move quickly and with a purpose. Coach Appleton would only have to shout " Hustle" or "Focus" to get his point across. He routinely moved groups from one station to another to keep fresh bodies working. As well as to remind them to stay hydrated for safe and maximum performance. Approximately 35 cars were serviced in the 3 hours of the event.
