On Thursday-14-July the Bogota Borough Council held their meeting for the month of July. At the start of the meeting Bogota Mayor Mr. Christopher Kelemen asked for a moment of silence to remember Ms. Gilda Faisca, the Mother of Councilwoman Consuelo Carpenter. The first order of business was to discussion about proposing an ordnance to limit the smoking of Marijuana in public places. This would be similar to the current ban on open containers of Alcohol in public. This would be extended to public sidewalk, streets, parking lots and all public park.

Then the Council voted on the consent agenda all items were passed. Resolution of note were to approve the hiring of SLEO Officers Mr. James Schielzo and Mr. David Naimaster. The appointment of Mr. Alex Rojas to the Creative Arts Team. and the transfer the liquor license for 358 Palisade Ave.
Another resolution that was passed was to reject the latest bids of the Recreation Centre due to them coming in over the budget. And the approval of Mr. Joseph Helou as a Junior Firefighter with Bogota Volunteer Fire Dept Engine Co. #1
The next regular Council will be held on Thursday-11-August starting at 7:30p. It will be held in the Council Chambers located on the third floor of 375 Larch Ave Bogota, NJ.
