On Wednesday-2-March the Ridgefield Park Board of Education held its first meeting for the Month of March. In his report Superintendent Dr. Barry Haines announced the district's plan to allow for the optional wearing of masks in the Public Schools. This will begin on Monday-7-March. This includes when on school transportation vehicles. He said this will continue as the number of positive covid-19 cases remain low. Superintendent Haines continue saying that Students and Staff that wish to wear a mask may do so. He added that anyone who decide to wear, or not wear, masks should be respect. Superintendent Haines also said that if the covid conditions again show a risk of spreading the masking, and quarantine rules will be adjusted as needed. The home quarantine rules have also been changed. If a Student or Staff show a positive test result, or shows symptoms, they must remain at home for 5 days. They would be allowed to return to school if, after 5 days, they have no fever. If after the 5 days, they still have a fever then they must remain home until there is no fever for 24 hours. Upon returning to school the individual must wear a mask until 11 days after the positive test results. After that time, with no fever, or other symptoms, they can resume normal actives and have the option to wear a mask.

When the trustees move to the resolution portion of the meeting all items were passed by a unanimous vote. An item of note was the approval to adjust the 2021-2022 school district
calendar. Schools will postpone the March 16, 2022, early dismissal for both Students
and Teachers.
The next School Board meeting will be on Wednesaday-16 March. The Public session will begin at 7:30p. This will be online and live in the High School Cafeteria located at 1 Ozzie Nelson Dr Ridgefield Park, NJ This is open to the Public.
