On Thursday-23-September the Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team hosted the Park Ridge Lady Owls in Speary Gym. Bogota would serve first and score the first point of the match. Park Ridge would account for the next two points and take an early lead. This trend would continue for the first part of the opening set. There would be 8 ties and 6 lead changes as both teams kept their opponents close. Mia Pimentel would finally open some space between Bogota and the Lady Owls with her service. Jenelly Jimenez then was able to expand the lead for the Lady Bucs. Park Ridge's Kailey Levinson scored a couple of service point to slow the Bogota momentum down. The Lady Bucs would put together several small points streak and win the first set by a score of 25-18.
The second set started with Park Ridge serving first, but Bogota would record the first points. The Lady Owls would again keep the score close at the start of the set. Ashanna Caviness served Bogota to a four point lead. The Lady Owls was able to close the gap with serving by Kate Rutowski. The Lady Bucs' Jenelly Jimenez, followed by Helena Tobin push Bogota's lead to double digits and three point from a match win. Serving by Kailey Levinson and Paige McConville started to reduce the Park Ridge deficit. After a couple of rotation errors and a delay of play card by Bogota the margin started to shrink. The Lady Bucs did get themselves in to a situation where they only needed to record a side out to win the set. Ashanna Caviness took a kill shot from the middle of the court that was unable to be returned by the Park Ridge defenders to give The Lady Bucs a 25-18 second set win and a 2-0 match win. Bogota's record is now 6-1.
Helena Tobin recorded 6 Service Points and 4 Digs for Bogota. Ashanna Caviness had a match high with 16 kills for the Lady Bucs. Bogota's Mia Pimentel had a match high with 18 assists. Brianna Mejia scored 1 Ace for the Lady Bucs.
Bogota next plays on Friday-24-September when they travel to Waldwick with the first serve scheduled for 4:00p
