On Monday-5-July the Village of Ridgefield Park held their Baby and Youth Parade. This annual event is open to Children under the age of 12 who live in the Village. They competed in a number of different categories to show off skills in decoration showing community pride. The entries could be walking, riding bikes, or creating a float. This is also open to Children from other communities in their own divisions. This parade started with the singing of "God Bless America" by Natasha Gonzalez, with the National Anthem being played by the Little Ferry VFW post # 809 band. The the Honor Student Court was introduced. At this time Jannys Ramos was introduced as the Queen, and Dylan Stevens as the Prime Minister. Both are 8th Grade Student at Ridgefield Park Junior High School. To start the Parade Ridgefield Park Mayor John Anlian welcomed everyone participation or watching the festivities. Mayor Anlian added that this year marks the 127th consecutive year the Village has held their Fourth of July celebration. With one final word the Mayor started the marchers on their walk around Euclid Ave.
The then cavalcade of Red, White & Blue proceed south down Euclid to Mt. Vernon St. Then they did a u-turn and marched back to the Poplar St starting point on the other side of the medium strip. The theme of this years parade was "Back to Tradition". Marchers showed of their creation on the full return of the Independence Celebration enjoyed in Ridgefield Park New Jersey. A short time after the final entry has crossed the finish line, the trophies were awarded.
