On Sunday-11-July Cast Iron Catering held an opening launch party at the City Green Farm in Clifton, NJ. Cast Iron Catering is a Catering, and Private Cheffing service founded by Mr. Cole Geraghty BHS Class of 2017, and Mr. Tyler Dubois raised in Rhode Island. The two chefs attended Johnson & Wales University of Rhode Island then met at the Siena in Providence Rhode Island. Due to the forced closures of many business during the recent health crisis, the two men thought of the idea of event catering, home meal preparation, and a personalize Chef Services for a “Date Night” intimate celebration. They agreed to move to Bogota to start their kitchen and gathered support from Family and Friends. They took advantage of Home Town Networking to cater the Bogota/ Saddle Brook baseball team’s end of season dinner.
Cast Iron Catering was then able to secure a day at the City Green Farm in Clifton NJ to hold their opening event. They used atmosphere of an early Summer Evening to display their take on a casual garden party. The starters included a Saute Coconut Shrimp, along with Stuffed Baby Red Peppers. The Main course had two types of Sliders, one a black bean patty while the second was ground beef. Then there was the choice of Chicken Nachos, Fresh Gnocchi in a Olive Oil with tomatoes and basil, and a Barbecue Chicken Skewers with pineapples. Sides available were a garden salad, green vegetables and roasted potatoes
After the dinners were satisfied with their meals, both Mr. Geraghty and Mr. Dubois thanked those for in attendance for their support and the complements on the quality the dishes. Then the two chefs now had the opportunity to greet their guest and socialize for the rest of the evening. For the local contingent it had the feel of an unofficial High School reunion. There was the sharing of old stories and learning new information about their former classmate and talking with a number of past Teachers and Coaches. Those who had traveled from out of state, they were able to discover a part of New Jersey not widely know. Both groups became one over fine dinning, a relaxing Sunday in New Jersey and conversation with old and new Friends. There was also time to play a few games in an open field. Visit with the Chicken, Ducks, Rabbits, on the farm and a few Goats who could not wait to feed by the Humans. The party goers could also explore the Educational Planter Boxes and wander through a colourful Wide Flower garden to cap off the event.
