Recap of the Ridgefield Park Varsity Sports from Friday-14-May.
The Ridgefield Park Tennis Scarlets played against the Westwood Cardinals on the Courts in Fellowship Park. The Cardinals would win the match 5-0 Ridgefield Parks record is now 2-8
Westwood's Eben Aufiero defeated Hans Sasuman 6-2, 6-1. Avery Romano-Villani over Nicholas Schneider 6-3, 6-3. Matthew Minas would beat Arron Lee 6-4, 6-2. The Scarlet did not field a Doubles pair. They next travel to River Dell on Monday-17-May. The Match is scheduled to start at 4:15p.
The Ridgefield Park Lady Scarlets traveled to Cliffside Park to play the Red Raiders. Cliffside Park would win the game by the score of 8-2 Ridgefield Park's record is now 1-14. They next play on Saturday-15-May, when they host Palisades Park. This will be played at the Baseball Field in Biggs Stadium. The first pitch is scheduled for 10:00a
The Baseball Scarlets hosted to Becton for a game against the Wildcats. Becton would 1-0 lead in the first inning. Ridgfield Park tied the game in the bottom of the third. After five innings the team would again be tied with a score of 5-5. In the seventh inning Ridgefield Park would score the final run of the game and post a 5-4 win. Their record is now 3-11.
The Scarlets' Andre Lekgjonaj would get the win in relief and throw 3 Strike Outs. Starting Pitcher Sam Aguilar worked five innings recording 10 Strike Outs. Richie Martinez hit two Double with Gio Sculli also getting a two base hit. Shea Losino and Sam Aguilar each steal one base.
Becton's Hunter Schanel threw 6 Strike-Outs in 6 1/3 innings. Ryan Reid hit the games only Home Run. Domenic Macione and Salavtore Penna each recorded a Double. Tyler O'Connor had one Stolen base.
They next play on Monday-17-May at Mahwah. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:00p
