Bogota basketball

  On Wednesday-10-February the Bogota Basketball Bucs hosted the Cresskill Cougars on the Jay Mahnoney Court at Speary Gym. Bogota would quickly score the first basket of the game. the Cougars would just as fast tie the score. The Bucs would open a 4 point lead and maintained it for most of the first quarter. Cresskill  did take a one point lead for a brief time, with the Bucs closing out the quarter posting a 14-12  advantage by the end of the eight minutes.  The Cougars regained a lead in the second quarter and opened it up to four points.  Bogota was again able to put together a point streak run so they could go into halftime ahead 31-29. After the restart Cresskill went on a 11 to 1 run to take the lead and control of the game. Cresskill would use their bench depth to rotate rested players all through the rest of the game. The Cougars also capitalizing on the Bucs forcing Three Points shots, that resulted  in  Cresskill rebounds and scoring at the other end of the floor. The Visitors would half a 52-39 lead at the end on the third quarter which led to a 65-56 road win for the Cougars.

   Bogota now has a record of  2-1. The Bucs Ashanti Caviness finished with game highs of 23 Points including 2 Three Point Baskets. Cresskill's Brain McQuille also had a game high with 2 Three Point Baskets. The Cougars were lead by Kiel McGee with 16 points.

   The Bogota next play on Friday-12-February against Dwight -Englewood on the Jay Mahnoney Court at Speary Gym . The tip-off is scheduled for 6:00p Junior Varsity game precedes at 4:30p
