On Friday-23-October the Ridgefield Park Football Scarlets were able to play their first game of the 2020 Season. They had to postpone all Varsity Sports for health concerns. The Scarlets would travel to Mahwah for a game against the Thunderbirds. The home team would open the scoring and maintain control for the rest of the half. Mahwah would score three times and hold a 21-0 advantage after the first 12 minutes. The Thunderbirds scored again in the second Quarter and took a 28- 0 lead into the locker room. After the re-start the two team would trade major scores with the game ending with a 34-7 Mahwah win.
Thunderbirds Sal Cantone would throw for two Touchdown passes and run for a third. Ridgefield Park's Tyler Colon would have a 33 yard Touchdown run. The Scarlets are now 0-1. Ridgefield Park next game is schedule against Pascack Hills. Due to health concerns admission to all games are for family members only.
