Some up coming events at the Bogota Public Library.
On Sunday -20 September The Big Read for 2020 will begin. This is sponsored by the National Endowment of the Arts and will focus on Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury--a book often challenge and/or banned. The first Bogota event will take place on Tuesday-22-September. This will feature picture books in English and Spanish with complementary themes will also be shared across Bogota to get everyone involved. The event on that day will include:
- 4:00p: A Live Facebook Storytime with Mr. Tom Skrnich. This can be seen on their face book page at: facebook.com/bogotalibrarynj
- 4:30-6:30p: Community Banned Books Art Project. Swing by the library, message us on social media, email or call us with the titles of books you would be devastated to see banned. They will be compiled for an art project. The goal: 451 titles

The first Ridgefield Park event will be on Friday-25-September. This will be a program that introduces the concept of censorship and how challenges to books occur followed by a reading of the book, The King who Banned the Dark by Emily Haworth-Booth. Children will receive a craft to complete at home.
The program is part of the National Endowment of the Arts (NEA) Big Read in Bogota, Little Ferry and Ridgefield Park. For more information, visit communityread.org. NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.

Also on Tuesday-22-September The Bogota Public Library will host a National Voter Registration Day event. This is part of a national wide effort to register thousands of voters. Every eligible American voter should exercise his or her right to be heard at the ballot box, and library workers will be outside the library encouraging Bogotians to get registered.

THE 2020 GENERAL ELECTION: Is on Tuesday-13-November.
The Bogota Public Library is now in cooperation with "Creative Bug" that presents a series of art & craft video classes taught by design experts and artists. Anyone wishing to access this service must log-in with a valid Library Card from the Bogota Library.
