On Tuesday winds from Tropical Storm Isaias swept across the area. With the rainfall that was not as much as excepted Bogota did not suffer flooding in the usual area. Winds and gusted , some of 70 miles per hour, did take their toll on many tress. A large number of smaller branches covered almost all of the Borough Streets. Members of the Bogota Department of Public Work were working on clearing the streets even before the rain stop. Note: Wednesday Recycling along with Metal and Tire pick-up on Friday will be postponed and scheduled for a later date.
There still were more serious damaged done by broken or displaced trees. A large number of incident would be when branch will fall across, and even pulling down power lines. Around 3:30p power to the Borough's power was either disconnect or turned off. With the electricity stopped this allowed crews PSE&G crews the opportunity to remove the broken trees and repair damage power lines. Power started to return approximately between 8:00 and 9:00p. By 9:30p PSE&G reported a few more scattered outages in Bogota and Ridgefield Park. At 10:30 parts of Teaneck and Hackensack were experience a larger number power outages.
Results in Bogota ranged from chairs and trash cans being blown around to more structural damages to homes and vehicles. Chimneys, roofs, fences, and a few pools were affected by falling debris. Some resident needed to be relocated from there home for safety inspection.
