The National Arbor Day Foundation has once again designated Bogota as a 'Tree City USA" This will be the 19th time the Borough had been awarded this title. Along with Ridgefield Park, Teaneck, Bergenfield Englewood, Hackensack, and other communities, this forms an Urban Forrest stretching for over seven miles.
Part of the criteria, which Bogota follows, is to have a Community Forestry Fact Sheet to inventory and maintain a health shade tree population within the Borough. Along with at least $2 per capita of the annual budget is used to the planting, care and removal of city trees in Bogota. Also the Bogota Public Schools holds annual Arbor Day actives in cooperation with the Bogota Environment Commission.
