 On Wednesday-22-July  the National Weather Service has issued the following severe weather  alerts and heat advisory for parts on New Jersey and New York. This will continue through-out the Weekend and into early next week.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Some storms could be severe, with large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 93. Heat index values as high as 99. South wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Tonight

Showers and thunderstorms likely before 2am, then a slight chance of showers between 2am and 4am. Some storms could be severe, with gusty winds and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 77. West wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Thursday

A slight chance of showers between 8am and noon, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 91. Heat index values as high as 96. Light southwest wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Thursday Night

Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. West wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday

A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. North wind 3 to 6 mph.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast New Jersey and
southeast New York.

-DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

An isolated strong to severe thunderstorm is possible this
afternoon, with the primary threat of damaging winds and large hail,
and possibly a weak tornado.
  A more organized line of strong to severe thunderstorms is possible
late this afternoon into this evening. The main threat would be
damaging wind gusts, and possibly a weak tornado.
  Heat indices will run in the mid to upper 90s this afternoon.

-DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Heat indices will run in the lower 90's to 95 on Thursday.
An isolated strong to severe thunderstorm is possible Thursday
afternoon into early evening.
