Volleyball Work-outs

   Starting  on the week of 13-July the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association allowed for the State School Districts to have supervision workouts for fall sports. 
  The Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team also must hold their workout session outsides. These take place in the back courtyard behind the building.  The sessions are scheduled to  take place in late afternoon. This allows for the shade of the School to offer some protections from the summer sun. Coach Brad DiRupo has split the teams into two groups. One groups consists of Freshman and Sophomore Students. The other group are members of the Varsity team from last year. First the team sits in front of Coach DiRupo to hear about what the days focus will be. Then the team Captains lead the others with warm-up, and stretches. With masks being worn all the time at a safe distance. 
   The two groups then move to opposites end of the courtyard.  Each player was given a ball to use for the entire workout. The exercises consist of serving in-order to perfect timing and placement.  This was done against the back wall letting the player to retrieve their own ball. This basic route was expanded to include skills that will aid in reaction time to receive an opposition serve. When needed assistant Coaches would stop the players to make suggestion of ways to improve their performance. Some of the suggestion would foot placement, or how strong the ball should be hit. 
   There were water breaks approximately every 10 to fifteen minutes which in also allowed equipment to be sanitized. After each break the group swapped ends to work on a different  skill set. This workout lasted one hour which allowed for a cool-down period to end the session.
