On Monday-15-June the State of New Jersey started the phase reopening of Public Library’s with in the State. The Bogota Public Library has announced their plans. The first part is to allow Library staff to return work in the building itself. All returned material will only be accepted in the outdoor drop box. Any returned items will be held for a 72-hour quarantine before they will be allowed to be fully check-in. The Library will continue to offer online and virtual programs. They will also add new programs when possible.
The next phase has yet to receive a starting date. When announced the Library will still remained closed to the public. At this time outside material will start to allowed for pick-up.
When a final phase plan has been made and announced The Library will then be allowed to be open to the public. This will be on a limited basis and be for the pick-up of material, computer use, and passport applications. New safety policies will be in effect. This will include, but not limited to: mandatory face masks and physical distancing, and special hours for at-risk patrons. Online & virtual programs will continue with additional
in-person programs offered when in compliance with health official recommendations.
One of the newer program that has been added is a Virtual Book Club. The first offering is: “The Mountains Sing” by Que Mai Phan Nguyen. The discussion of this will take place on Tuesday-23-June starting at 7:00p. The book club will then hold discussion of the next book on the fourth Tuesday of every month.
