On Sunday-26-April the United State Air Force announced that The U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds, and the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, will honor Emergency Medical and Law Enforcement responders and all essential workers with formation flights over New York City, Newark, Trenton and Philadelphia on Tuesday-28-April. The New York , and Newark flights are scheduled to take place at approximately 12:00 noon lasting about 35 minutes. They will then travel to Trenton for a 1:45p demonstration, and finishing over Philadelphia, Penna. at 2:00p
It is asked that residents in these areas will be able to see the flyover from the safety of their home and should maintain all social distancing guidelines during this event. They should also refrain from traveling to landmarks, hospitals and gathering in large groups to view the flyover.
The route that is planned to to start at 12:00 noon over the George Washington Bridge. They will travel over the Western Side of Manhattan, before turning West to circle Newark. The flight will then proceed to go over Brooklyn and Staten Island. From there they will travel East to Nassau County then Northwest to Winchester County. The flight will finish by crossing over the Bronx, and along the East River departing over the Verrazzano Narrows Bridge approximately at 12:40p
