The Bogota Board of Education announced the opening of one seat on the Board of Trustees. This is due to the recent resignation of one of its members for Personal Reason. The Board is now taking applications to fill that seat. This will be a one year running until December 31, 2020. The requirements to serve as a member of the Bogota Board of Education include being a citizen and resident of Bogota for at least one year, registered to vote in the district and not being disqualified to vote, not being convicted of a crime, and having the ability to read and write.
Anyone interested in filling this position should submit a letter of interest with your background and reason for wanting to be a board member to Business Administrator/Board Secretary Mr.Irfan Evcil at: Ievcil@bogotaboe.com All applications must be received by the Central Office no later than 4:00p on Wednesday-19-February. The new Trustee will be voted on at the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday-25- February. At this meeting all candidates will be interviewed in open session by the current sitting members. Then a Trustee will hold a public vote. This meeting is open to the Public.
The next Board of Education meeting will be on Tuesday-11-February and is scheduled to start at 7:00p. This will take place in the Cafeteria of Bogota High School located on the second floor of 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ. This meeting is open to the public.
