On Friday-14-February the Bogota Men's Basketball Bucs took on the METS Charter School Mustangs from Jersey City, NJ. This was played on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym as the nightcap of a coed double header. The two teams trade points early on and were tied at six apiece. The Mustangs briefly took a two point lead, which Bogota answer back with a three point basket to take over the lead for good. At the end of the first quarter Bogota would hold a 19-13 advantage. The second quater the Bucs defense would hold METS to only five points and come out of the first half with a 35-23. In the second half the Bucs would continue to score in double digits in all four quarter to record a 68-36 victory
Bogota's Evan Meberg would have a game high with 19 Points. Vincent Ducut led all scorers with 4 Three Point Baskets each. The Mustangs' Eugene Onuchoga had a team high of 13 Points including 2 Three Point Basket.
Bogota is now 16-4. They next play on Tuesday-18-February vs Hawthorne Christian Academy. The tipoff is scheduled for 7:00p, on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym.
Bogota received the #1 seed in the the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Men's Basketball North 1, Group 1 Tournament. Bogota will play #16 Wallington in the first round on Monday-2-March. This will take place on the Jay Mahoney Court at Speary Gym Tip-off time is scheduled for 7:00p.
