Bogota Basketball

   On Tuesday- 18- February the basketball teams of Bogota played those from Hawthorne Christian Academy. The Lady Bucs traveled to Hawthorne Christian to play the Lady Defenders.  Bogota would win this game by a score of 31-24. Ruby Recio would have a game high of 10 Points for Bogota. The Lady Defenders were lead by Ella Cacs and Ms. Murtagh with 8 Points a piece.
  Bogota's record is now 5-15. They next play against Cresskill on Thursday-20-February on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym. The tip-off is scheduled for 4:00p

     The Men's Basketball Bucs host the Defenders on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym. Bogota would jump out to a five point lead to start the game. They would mostly maintain this advantage throughout the first quater. Near the end of the opening eight minutes Hawthorne Christian closed to gap to a single point, with Bogota ahead 17-16. In the next quarter a flurry of three point basket came from both sides. The Bucs score more point from close range and were able to take a 34-24 lead into the locker room. During the third quater the Defenders would out score the home team, but only to reduce their deficit by one point.
   The Bucs would keep the scoring pressure on Hawthorne Christian and take control over the rest of the playing time. Bogota would go on to win the game by a score of 64-51. The Bucs' Taj Collins would finish leading all scores with 22 Points. That would include a team high of 4 Three Point Baskets. The Defenders would get game of 5 Three point Baskets from Justin Awad. Chris Eelman scored a team high with 17 Points. Bogota's record is now 17-4. They next play at Cresskill on Thursday-20-February. The tip-off is scheduled for 7:00p
