On Tuesday-7-January the Bogota Bowling Bucs defeated the Midland Park Panthers 5-2. Bogota’s Spencer Mazzella had both a match high series with a 534, and game with 211. Midland Park was lead by Sean Olson with a 386 Series and Henrique Barbosa with a 155 game. Bogota’s record is now 3-6. They next bowl on Thursday-9-January against Bergen Arts and Science. The first game is scheduled for 4:00p at the Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park.
On Monday the Bogota Middle School Bucs opened their season against the Hawthorne Christian Academy Defenders. This was played on the Patty Ciccone Court at the David Moore Gym. The Lady Bucs would start the by scoring the first 12 Points. This would pace Bogota to a 28-4 lead at the half. The Lady Bucs would win their game by a score of 44-6.
The Men’s team play the Defenders in a tight contest. Neither team would have more than a three point during the game. Hawthorne Christian Academy held a 10-8 after the first quarter. Bogota would even the score at 19 going into half time. By Three Quarter time the Defenders took back the lead, by one point, 26-25. In the mad dash that was the final quater both team had leads, and the opposition would come back to retake the advantage. Bogota would find the final edge and find the win by a score of 40-39.
Both Middle school team will play again on Thursday-9-January at Ridgefield. The Lady Bucs game will have a 4:00p tip-off with the Men's game to follow.
