Monday-1- October will be the start of Leaf Season. Home Owners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting in the street , along the curb, in front of their residents. It is ask that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding , or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday -16- December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up.

The group Christmas in Bogota is sponsoring a toy drive for Families especially in Bogota. They will be collecting toys up to Tuesday-10-December. These items will then be donated to the Bogota Police Dept for their annual give away. This was an idea from Mr. Walter Fowler and is being organized by Ms.Lisa Kohles, Ms.Amanda Montgomery and Ms.Kristen Meberg. They have setup the website at: https://yougivegoods.com/drive-Bogota They are looking for 100 donation to support Bogota Children this Holiday season. Asa of this posting they are closing in on the halfway mark for this drive. You Give Goods will deliver the donations to the Bogota Police Dept, and donations at tax deductible. Items that are being accepted are toys, other gift items and cold weather gear. The donations will be distributed by the Offices of the Bogota Police Dept during their Holiday give -away.

The Bogota Recreation Commission will host its annual Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony. This will take place in front of Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave Bogota, NJ. The Tree Lighting is schedule to take place at 7:00p with the assistance of a special guest. Cookies and Hot Chocolate will be served after the ceremony at the West Broad St. Fire House.

The Chief Justice White Council of the Knights of Columbus will host a Breakfast with Santa. This will start at 8:30a and be held at their hall located at 829 Windsor Rd. Teaneck, NJ. Tickets are $10.00 for anyone over 12 years old. Students aged 5-12 are $5.00 with children under 4 years old free of charge. All Children attending will recieve a complementary 5x7 photo with Santa. They will also be collecting for the Toys for Tots program.

The weekly " Meet the Mayor" event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. The Bogota Police Emergency Services Youth Academy will be premiering the movie of BPESYA Class #08. The Curtain time of 7:00p, and will take place in the Cedar Lane Cinemas in teaneck, NJ. Admission is free, and is open to the Public. This film chronicles the day to day experiences of the Cadets who made up Class #08 in the Summer of 2019. It follows them from Orientation Day to their Graduation Ceremonies. This is a record of what it is to be apart of one of the finest Summer Youth Academies in Northern New Jersey.
Before and after the showing refreshments along with BPESYA merchandise will be available for purchase , with all proceeds going to fund the Bogota Police Emergency Services Youth Academy Class #09 that will be in the Summer of 2020.
