On Friday-9-December the Emergency Services Youth Academy in Bogota held the premier of the movie featuring highlights of Class 08 from the Summer of 2019. This was held at the Cedar Lane Cinema in Teaneck, NJ. Academy Alumni, Family and Friends attended to watch the lives of Class 08 for two weeks in August. Some instructors along with Bogota Mayor Chris Kelemen and Daniele Fede were on hand to share in the premier. There were items available for purchase before the show which will go to help fund Class 09 in 2020. These were a first of its kind yearbook for Class 08, a flash drive of the movie. Later on there was an announcement that a store has been set-up on Custom Ink which is offering T-Shirts and Sweatshirt with will have the Academy Logo on the front, and Academy motto of : "Recept, Effort, Discipline" on the back. These are available as a fundraiser for Class 09 as well. Please click on this link : ESYA Fundraiser to access the website. Orders must be place before Tuesday-17-December.
Before entering the theatre, the attendees would catch up with fellow Alumni. Looked at the new yearbook, and collected as many autographs as they could. Snacks were purchased before the performance began. On Stage were Program Director Sgt Craig Lynch, Program Administrator Elizabeth Wieskus and Technical Coordinator Rey Sanchez. They would soon be joined by Honor Graduates and Three year Alumni from the Audience. Miss Wieskus thanked everyone who came to support the Academy, and even did her dance in appreciation. Sgt Lynch also thanked those who came to the see the movie and show their support over the last nine years. He then introduced Mayor Kelemen who boasted about the Academy when he is asked about it by other elected officials throughout New Jersey.
Then it was time for the lights to dim and enjoy a fortnight in the life of Class 08.
