On Saturday-23-November the #4 seeded Bogota Lady Bucs took on the #5 seeded Northern Valley at Demerest Norsewomen in the opening round of the 2019 New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Women's Volleyball Tournament of Champions. All the matches of this tournament are played at William Paterson University. Group I winners Bogota played Group 2 winners Demerest in the opening round. The Lady Bucs would win this match by a score of 2-0 (25-17 : 25-15). Bogota's Nylene Mateo would record match highs with 14 Kills, 7 Service Points including 1 Ace. Amber Vazquez would have match highs with 13-Digs and 26 Assist. And Julianne Corniel led all players with 3 Blocks. The Norsewomen were led by Noa Shuminer with 4 Kills Samantha Rizzo had 10 Assists and Madison DeMartini scores 9 Digs.
Bogota would next face #1 Immaculate Heart Academy in the semi-final round. Before that the first semi-final saw #2 Williamstown Lady Braves, the Group 4 winner play #3 Mendham Minutewomen, which won the Group 3 title. Mendham would win the match 2-0 (25-17 : 27-25) to move on to the final round on Sunday-24-November.
#4 Bogota play #1 Immaculate Heart Academy Blue Eagles, winner of the Non-Public school group in the second semifinal. Bogota, playing their second match of the day. was beaten by the Blue Eagles 2-0 ( 25-8 : 25-14) Immaculate Heart Academy's Anna Morris had match highs with 14 Kills and 2 Blocks. Gianna Grigaliunas had 13 Digs and Maeve Duffin scored 18 Assists. Bogota's Nylene Mateo would recorded 8 Kills and 8 Digs. Amber Vazquez would have 9 Assist. And Julianne Corniel and Gyanna Hernandez both had 6 Blocks.
With this win the #1 Immaculate Heart Academy Blue Eagles play the #3 Mendham Minutewomen in the 2019 Tournament of Champions final. This match will be played on Sunday-24-November at William paterson University with the first serve scheduled for 2:00p
The Lady Bucs finish their season with a record of 30-5. This is the first thirty win season since 2012 and the sixth 30 win season under Head Coach Brad DiRupo. Bogota would win their 16th straight division championship. Bogota would also capture their second straight Group I title. This would be the third time in 10 years they would win back-back Group I titles. The lady Bucs have won the Group I Championship for the 8th time in ten years, and 9 times in 12 years. 2019 marks the 10th Group I Championship since the format began in 1982. They have the second most championship win in group I.
