On Tuesday-12-November the Bogota Board of Education held their first meeting for the month of November.
In his report Superintendent Damian Kennedy mention a few items. One was that the upper parking lot had been repaved. This was due to the original construction was insuffisant. The handicap parking space were not up to code, and a hollow in one area would have cause water build-up. The access water could have flowed into the building, or cause icing problem in colder temperatures. The board later passed a resolution to get reimbursement of this emergency cost from the original contractor. Next was the announcement that the energy audit as part of the New Jersey Clean Energy Program had finished. A cost proposal will be present to the Board at a future meeting. This will allow Bogota to have 80% of the cost upgrades to more efficient systems, including lighting and heating cost, be paid for by this program. The company, Direct Install will due analysis of what every building belonging to the district needs and give its recommendation at a future board meeting. The Board of Education will still need to cover the final 20% of the cost for the improvements. Then Superintendent Kennedy said the drawing for replacement windows at Bixby School has been finalized. Once approved the Windows installation is scheduled to be completed by April of 2020
Three agenda items were passed, all other agenda items were pass on to be formally voted on with the rest of the consent agenda at the next Board of Education meeting scheduled for Tuesday-19-November.

The Next Board of Education meeting will be on Tuesday-19-November. The meeting will be held in the High School Cafeteria located on the second floor of 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ. The meeting is scheduled to start at 7:00p. The Public is invited to attend.
