Results of Bogota Varsity Sports from Thursday-3-October.
The Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team traveled to Hawthorne Christian Academy to play the Lady Defenders. Bogota would win the match 2-0 (25-5: 25-8 ). Kiara Polanco would score 10 Kills. Mia Pimentel had 16 Assists. Gianna Estevez recorded 6-Digs. Their record is now 12-0. They next play on Friday-4-October against Waldwick. This will take place in Speary Gym, with the first serve scheduled for 4:00p. This is a 125th Homecoming event.
The Bogota Soccer Bucs hosted the Scarlets from Ridgefield Park. This was the annual night game for Bogota. Ridgefield Park scored the first goal of the game midway into the first half. Even with the visiting team having many chances on goal Bogota kept the game close. This was highlighted by Carlos Cabrera making a save off a penalty kick, and the first half ended with the Scarlet holding a 1-0 lead. After the restart Ridgefield Park would then score 5 more times. Bogota would answer with only a single goal by Sebastian Cabrera to make the final score 6-1 in favor Ridgefield Park. Victor Ortiz would score 3 Goals for the Scarlets. Bogota's record is now 0-10. They next play on Monday-7-October at Palisades Park, with the kick off scheduled for 4:00p.
After the game the six Seniors player were recognized for the contribution to Bogota Soccer. Stephen Fernandez, Carlos Cabrera, Omar Ebid, Jonathan Duque, Sebastian Cabrera, and Sebastian Martinez were presented to the crowd and given gifts from the Coaches.
